BizIn – Hajime Isayama has long been known as the comic artist for Attack on Titan or Singeki no Kyojin among anime and manga lovers. With the extraordinary imagination and inspiration that is poured into his work, Attack on Titan, it has successfully captured the hearts of many readers.
Since childhood, Hajime, who was born on August 29th 1986, loves to read comics, and aspires to become a comic artist. He created the Attack on Titan story in 2009, the idea started when Hajime played a game named ‘Muv-Luv Alternatif’ and then he thought about ‘what if the aliens eat humans?’
Based on the question that appeared on his mind, he wrote one chapter manga with the title, ‘Singeki no Kyojin’. The inspiration for Titan itself was found by Hajime from Ryoji Minagawa’s ARMS and when he saw drunk people come to the internet cafe where he works part-time.
Hajime said that he felt scared whenever he had to deal with drunk customers. According to him, this is because he doesn’t understand the feeling of a human being on the drunken customer, even though they are both human.

If you pay attention, Titan still has a form like humans in general with a larger size. However, their actions are so uncontrollable that they don’t deserve to be called humans.
His short work led the 19-year-old Hajime to win the ‘Fine Work’ award while participating in the Magazine Grand Prix sponsored by Kondansha. His success led Hajime to create a manga series with the same title with Eren Jaeger as the main character.
The comic produced such amazing results that it was adapted into an anime started in April 2013, which was worked on by Wit Studio until it continued to the last season worked on by MAPPA Studio.
During his career journey, Hajime Isayama once gave a sample of his work to a publisher, but was rejected because of the poor image quality even though the story idea was very good. However, as the volume of the Attack on Titan comics continued, Hajime’s drawing skills grew and amaze people.
Starting from his drawing hobby since childhood, Hajime Isayama became the 4th richest manga artist in Japan. The sale reached about more than 100 million volumes, with the net worth around US$ 50 million or IDR 715 billion. Wow! Isn’t it cool?
