BizIn – To anticipate Omicron spread, Indonesia has officially banned the entry of foreign nationals (WNA) from 14 countries since Friday (7/1). This prohibition is stated in the Circular (SE) of the Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Kasatgas) Number 1 of 2022 concerning Health Protocols for Overseas Travel during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In addition, this Circular is issued to monitor, control, and evaluate in order to prevent an increase in the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. With the enactment of this Circular Letter, Circular Letter Number 26 of 2021 concerning Health Protocols for Overseas Travel during the 2019 Coronavirus Disease Pandemic is revoked and declared invalid.
These are the list of 14 countries that are banned from entering Indonesia to anticipate Omicron spread:
- South Africa
The temporary closure of foreigners’ entrance into Indonesian territory, either directly or in transit in foreign countries, is excluded for travellers who meet the following criteria:
- Do not have a history of travel and/or stay within fourteen days from the country/region as intended.
- In accordance with the provisions in the Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Permenkumham) Number 34 of 2021 concerning the Granting of Immigration Visas and Stay Permits in the Period of Handling the Spread of Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery.
- In accordance with the agreement scheme (bilateral), such as the travel corridor arrangement (TCA); and/or
- Get special consideration/permission in writing from the ministry/institution (K/L).
