BizIn – A 56% increase in passengers during the Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 periods occurred at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. The number of passengers served reached 406,682 people from December 17, 2021, to January 4, 2022, more than last year, which was around 260,476 passengers.
Herry A Y Sikado as General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport revealed that the highest flow of departing and arriving passengers, with 28,975 passengers, occurred on December 19, 2021.

During the event, he also appreciated the various parties who have been tasked with maintaining the safety and security of flight operations according to airport procedures, especially with the new variant of Omicron. He also added that the movement of domestic aircraft departing and arriving at Bali Airport decreased by 6.15 percent even though the number of passengers increased.
There were 3,299 aircraft movements during Christmas and New Year, but last year the figure reached 3,515. This is also related to the COVID-19 pandemic and the new variant of Omicron.
